Since the UK’s departure from the EU in 2021, our trading relationship with the island of Ireland has been constantly evolving. Doing business with Northern Ireland continues to cause confusion for many Lancashire exporters. This half-day training course will demystify the process by providing a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the Windsor Framework. We will explore in-depth how to sell goods to Northern Ireland, including how to determine whether those goods are “at risk” or “not at risk” by considering factors such as the location of the end consumer, the origin of the goods, EU v UK duty rate, commercial processing and online selling. Delegates will learn the requirements and timescales of record keeping in order to demonstrate compliance to HMRC.
We will look at UKIMS and how the Trader Support Service (TSS) aids UK exporters and their Irish importers. We will also provide information on the Duty Waiver and Duty Reimbursement schemes available to Northern Irish importers and what these mean. Finally, we will also explore how EU regulations apply to Northern Ireland, including CE marking, GPSR and CBAM.
