Did you know that over 6,800 schools and colleges have already applied for a DfE grant funded Mental Health Lead training?
The government’s mental health green paper (2017) encourages all schools to have a trained Senior Mental Health Lead or Designated lead for mental health in situ and trained by 2025. As such the DfE are offering a grant of £1200 to support the training and associated cover for the role. There is also anecdotal information that all state-funded schools and colleges by 2023 so act now so that you don’t miss out!
Senior Mental Health Leads are not expected to be mental health professionals or those that diagnose, but should be part of the senior leadership team (SLT) or should have the support from the SLT to implement a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing to ensure improvements are implemented and outcomes are achieved.
Our programme is DfE assured and eligible for grant funding – course code SMHL083
Unlike other courses our programme, covers ALL the 8 principles outlined in the PHE’s Promoting Children and Young People’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing. Whether you’re beginning or are wanting to ensure you have a robust whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing in your school or college then our programme is for you. Through evaluation, training, and coaching support, this package identifies the whole school priorities and develops strategic and operational approaches to address those needs.
