Please Note: This course requires a basic knowledge of Windows and a laptop/ mouse with Excel 2013 or newer installed – we do have a few laptops that can be hired for use during the course but should be arranged in advance.
The course develops confidence in creating and editing Excel spreadsheets for absolute beginners. Learn how to properly store ,organize, and analyze information.
While many believe Excel is only used to process complicated data, anyone can learn how to take advantage of the program’s powerful features. Whether you’re keeping a budget, organizing a training log, or creating an invoice, Excel makes it easy to work with different types of data.
This Level 1 course is truly aimed at the fundamentals of Excel, to avoid booking a course that is either too hard or too easy, we ask that you take a quick 24-question multiple choice assessment of your current level of Excel knowledge to ensure that this course is where you should begin

If we find that the delegate is “beyond” the elements and concepts discussed in this Level 1 course – we will recommend either Level 2,3, or 4 depending on the results. This assessment can save you both time and money!
This course is perfectly designed for those of us who are either new to Excel or simply have limited experience in working with formulas and building spreadsheets from scratch.

- Excel screen and terminology
- Data Input & Editing
- Moving and Copying data
- Saving / Opening / Closing a Workbook
- Formatting Cells, Columns and Rows
- Introducing Simple Formulae (necessary to advance to higher level Excel courses)
- SUM and AVERAGE
- Understanding formula syntax (necessary to advance to higher level Excel courses)
- Page Setup
- Printing Worksheets
Course Requirements:
All that is required to take part in this course is a basic knowledge of Windows and a laptop/mouse with Excel 2013 or newer installed – if this is not possible then a laptop with Excel 2016 can be hired for use during the course but should be arranged in advance. We have an 8 delegate maximum per course so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided and delegates will be awarded the Chamber of Commerce Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of this course.
The Chamber will run this course three times in 2020: 16th Jan, 14th May, and 18th September.
