This Excel training course will teach you to use the advanced features contained in Excel to their full extent for your business or department and is ideal for Financial managers or consultants, business owners, or line managers responsible for creating and maintaining company data.

By the end of this course, you will be able to analyse complex company data using ‘lookups’ and PivotTables. A basic introduction to creating Macros and viewing VBA, the programming language, is included.

This is the fourth and final Excel course in our 4-course Excel Pro-User program. It is the highest level of training for Excel available from the NWL Chamber for those that utilise Excel in a professional environment.

To avoid booking a course that is either too hard or too easy, too fast or too slow, we ask that all delegates complete a pre-course checklist to assess their current level of Excel knowledge. This will enable us to ensure that all delegates are on the right course and able to follow the training at a similar pace, you can retrieve this from the Training Department on request.

If we feel that you are “beyond” the elements and concepts discussed in this course – we will recommend which level we feel would most benefit you. This assessment can save both time and money!

What we will cover:

  • Using lookup functions – LOOKUP, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP –
  • *NEW* Using the XLOOKUP Function
  • Auditing Workbooks and Worksheets
  • Using Data validation to ensure the integrity of data

  • Advanced filtering of data
  • Creating and Customising PivotTables
    • Adding and removing fields
    • Hiding and displaying field detail

This course is instructor-led live online and involves useful examples and exercises in a workshop environment to enable delegates to work ‘smarter’ with Excel as well as learn useful techniques, tips, and tricks.

Course Requirements:

Delegates should have access to a laptop with Excel 2016 or newer installed (unfortunately not an Apple laptop or a ‘web-based’ version of Excel). Whilst not essential, the laptop should have a mouse attached as this can be quicker for users during the course

Before enrolling in any Chamber of Commerce Excel course, all prospective delegates must complete a mandatory skills analysis.

This assessment is essential to determine your current proficiency level and ensure you are placed on the most appropriate course (Introductory, Intermediate, or Advanced) for an optimal learning experience. Based solely on the results of this self-assessment, the Chamber will recommend the suitable course level.*

*Please note that by completing the enrolment process, delegates acknowledge that the Chamber of Commerce is unable to accept responsibility or provide refunds if an individual subsequently feels they have been placed on the wrong level course, as placement relies entirely on the delegate’s own honest assessment during the skills analysis.

We strongly encourage careful and truthful completion of the analysis to secure the best possible course fit.

IMPORTANTThe trainer will need to install exercise files on your laptop should you choose to use your own. Some company laptops are not suitable as they have certain features disabled which prohibit the loading of files.

Courses are held online if you require a face to face place, please let us know so we can organise this for you.

We have an 10-delegate maximum per course so please book early to avoid disappointment.
