Good food, great connections, and the best training around – all in a 1-1/2 hour working lunch!
The North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Moore and Smalley LLP, and Farmers Arms in Great Eccleston present our second “Lunch and Learn” networking event!
The Lunch and Learn will include a two-course meal (buffet style to facilitate speed, training, and networking), a solid, short-but-sweet training session, and an excellent opportunity to meet other business people from Lancashire! After our first Lunch and Learn, members requested more room for networking and food service that didn’t interfere with the training…and we have responded!
In addition to good food and great networking, over lunch, Mike Marsden, VAT manager at our valued Patron Member, Moore and Smalley LLP, presents:
VAT – a Very Awkward Tax
VAT is not a simple tax to understand or apply, yet it impacts on everything you do in business and Mike has a unique way of making this topic fun, light, and valuable!
Mike will share his experiences of common VAT traps and pitfalls, things to avoid and what you can do to more effectively manage your VAT affairs.
With over 29 years of experience of VAT, with HM Customs & Excise (the forerunner to HMRC), as well as roles in industry and the ‘Big 4’ he has a wide range of knowledge and experience of the subject with many a war story to share.
You may also enter a drawing for an opportunity to give a two minute “elevator pitch” to all attendees present!
Our Lunch and Learn events provide a perfect opportunity to develop existing relationships whilst making new contacts at the same time. So join us to connect with businesses from across Lancashire and get your brand and business card in wide circulation!
All are welcome to take part in this event but seating is limited to 40-45 delegates, be sure to reserve your place early as we fully booked up at our last Lunch and Learn!
Menu:
Farmer’s Arms will provide delegates with a buffet selection of haddock goujons with marie rose sauce , grilled pitta with houmous, barbequed goosnargh chicken wings, three cheese tartlets, smoked salmon toasts with lemon and crème fraiche, and home cooked paprika crisps for lunch, and for dessert: mini syrup Sponge, mini Apple Tarts, and Rum & Raisin Fudge.
Location:
The Farmers Arms, in the picturesque market village of Great Eccleston, combines an ambient pub, private dining, two dining floors and a courtyard for outside dining. It is an excellent location for networking and making business contacts and dining while training!
