The UK left the EU on the 31 January 2020. From 1 January 2021, the way you trade with the EU will change, and you will need to be ready to comply with new customs arrangements. New rules will take effect on 1 January 2021.
This is the second in a series of workshops that will help you prepare for the upcoming changes and offer an insight to the help we can provide at the Chamber. The workshops are completely free of charge.
Following on from the successful launch of this series of events in August future events will be split into two parts for new joiners and follow up actions.
Part 1, for new joiners, from 09.00 – 09.45 will cover:
· Customs declarations (export and import)
· Customs Duties
· U.K. Global tariff
· VAT (imports)
· Safety and Security declarations
· Actions to take
Part 2, for those who have attended previous sessions, from 09.45 – 10.30 a.m.:
Will consist of shared experience on a peer to peer basis, the Chamber will update you on any further changes and new information. We will also be inviting guest speakers and over the three events so far, we will have speakers from DIT and TLF the French Forwarders Association to give us the European perspective on the new border model.
HMRC have stated that this is now a requirement for all importers and exporters applying for any Customs approvals and facilities to undertake a Customs compliance audit.
