Chamber requests district authority procurement activity

The Chamber has written to all district authorities requesting information regarding their procurement activities.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, all councils have been asked to make public how they are spending their money on various public contracts, and how much of it is being tendered to local businesses within their boundaries.

Following recent engagement with our members, a number of businesses have raised observations regarding the awarding of certain contracts to organisations based outside of the various local councils and Lancashire as a county.

Under the FoI, district councils have a few weeks to answer the request and once we have all the information, the Chamber will act on the data we receive.
