An author has launched a book aiming to help human resources professionals in the workplace.
‘The Human Resources Practitioner’s Guide to Health, Safety and Corporate Risk’ has been written by John Huckstepp.
There is an enormous amount of attention on employee health and wellbeing currently.
Employee absence from work can substantially affect the productivity and performance of companies, increase risk, and reduce employee engagement and confidence, which in turn can impact on supplier and customer relationships.
Mr Huckstepp said: “The book helps HR professionals to understand the legal concepts associated with organisation design, recruitment, and competence and highlights the impact of performance and reward on behaviour.
“It explains why employees are as likely to have an accident in the first six months of a new job as during the rest of their career and has been developed following research into over 1,000 books, magazines, and reports.
“It also highlights the cause and effects of two million UK workers suffering from illnesses or conditions caused or made worse by work.”
As a part of the book launch, Mr Huckstepp is providing health and safety audits at the reduced rate of £1,000 – normally £1,600 – for Chamber members, an offer which will run for all risk assessments booked before March 31.
The book can be obtained from http://www.amazon.co.uk/Resource-Practitioners-Health-Safety-Corporate/dp/0993514103
