The heart of Preston’s professional quarter will be transformed into a networking hub for businesses next month as companies from across Lancashire are invited to ‘Hangout’.

The Winckley Square Business Hangout, a networking event hosted by the NWL Chamber of Commerce and Preston Business Improvement District (BID), returns to Winckley Square on Thursday 5th September,  when it is expected to once again attract wide range of business owners and managers from across Lancashire.

The event is being supported by The Winckley Square Hotel and The Artistry House, both local businesses operating around the Square.

Lynsey Thompson, managing director for the Artistry House said “We believe the best work comes when we put our heads together, so collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce to sponsor the Winckley Square Hangout was right up our street, plus the event is right on our doorstep, so we’d love to welcome everyone into the house to find out more on the day.

A welcoming home for creativity, the Artistry House is a place for big ideas and innovation, get-togethers and events, workshops and collaboration. It’s much more than a workspace in the heart of Preston its a home for inspiration and the centre of our creative community.”

Daniel Carlyle, events manager at the Chamber of Commerce said that the event would once again showcase Winckley Square as the “commercial hub” of the city centre and a natural location for the professions to cluster.

He said: “We all know that Winckley Square is a gem in Preston’s crown and by hosting the Hangout event there we continue to promote its obvious potential.  The Hangout is an incredibly popular event, even more so now with the huge investment in the Square.

“It’s not your usual networking; there’s no name badges, no delegate lists, no infinite speeches, just a relaxed business environment where the movers and shakers in the business community can get together and forge lasting working relationships whilst exploring the Square’s development, first-hand.”

The event will once again see the return of the ‘Hangout’ line where businesses can pin up information on what their business does and seek partners in other sectors.

The method has already connected numerous businesses seeking to buy and sell products and services and continues to be really popular.

The BID, a project managed by the NWL Chamber of Commerce, is a funding partner and supporter of the Winckley Square Community Interest Company (WSCIC); a body set up by businesses on the Square to oversee its regeneration. The BID continues to financially support the development of the Square and surrounding areas.
