Apprenticeships are commonly misjudged.

“I’m too old to do an apprenticeship” “Apprenticeships are only relevant in the manufacturing and engineering industries” Sound familiar?

SR Supply Consultants Ltd are asking you to look beyond traditional hiring routes and diversify your workforce by employing apprentices and invite you to come down to a free networking event in Preston during National Apprenticeship Week on the 6th February.

Apprenticeships can pave the way for all kinds of careers, from media, banking and IT to finance or procurement. We’ve all heard the saying “New Year, New Career” and with National Apprenticeship Week 2020 just around the corner, it couldn’t be more apt.

SR Supply Chain Consultants Ltd are a registered Apprenticeship Training Provider, specialising in procurement and delivering CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply). Clare Towne, Business Development and Relationship Manager for SR Supply Chain believes that “apprenticeships build skills which elevate your team and add value to your business whilst improving efficiency. They also celebrate the diversity and value that apprenticeships can bring to employers”.

Developing apprentices in house means they understand the business from the inside up and ensures not only technical or process knowledge, but they also gain the necessary soft skills such as enhanced listening and communication. Additionally, SR Supply Chain can improve the retention of skilled employees through the added investment of the apprenticeship programme.

Apprenticeships are all encompassing, and the standards are high. Whether a school leaver, graduate or existing employee in a role held for 2 or more years an apprenticeship could be the answer. Contrary to what many people think, there is no upper age limit with apprentices’ ranging between 16-60 from graduates to upskillers.

Hosted at the Tickled Trout Hotel in partnership with The Macdonald Hotel Group who SR Supply chain work with and utilise for their study centres, the SR Supply Chain team will be there to chat all things apprenticeships. Come and learn all about apprenticeships and the opportunities SR Supply Chain offers. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat whether you’re a potential Apprentices who wants to earn while you learn or an employer looking to enhance your team.
