A Preston-based charity is taking part in two events next week at which they will raise awareness of eating disorders.
SEED (Support and Education for Eating Disorders) is involved with the events, taking place on February 24 and 25.
The first is held in collaboration with Neal’s Yard and will be a fundraiser for SEED, a registered charity which provides support and services for eating disorder sufferers and their carers.
There will be a range of raffle prizes on offer as a well as a talk on reflexology from a reflexologist, Jackie Marsden.
Also available on the night will be Neal’s Yard products as well as wine, healthy nibbles, tea and coffee.
It takes place at Howick House, Howick Park Avenue, Penwortham, running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Admission is 50p.
The following day sees the organisation at Preston’s College (11am-4pm) as part of Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
There will be a ‘Living Library’ event where eating disorder sufferers and their carers will be willing to share their personal experiences with pupils.
Clinicians and volunteers will be on hand to give more information about eating disorders and the help SEED can offer.
Volunteers will be wearing and selling ‘crazy socks’ to raise awareness and money for eating disorders.
Other stalls will be selling cakes and handmade SEED jewellery, while SEED, Breathe and B-eat leaflets, along with information about eating disorders, will be freely available.
