Lancashire’s Chambers have come together to help give businesses across the County a voice and strengthen the partnership between employers and training providers through Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs).

The aim of the LSIP is to put employers at the heart of the skills programme in the county. This requires wide-reaching engagement with businesses of all sectors and sizes to uncover the skills needs of employers now and in the future.

An integral part of the current LSIP programme is to conduct a ‘deep dive’ with a wide range of industry sectors. This is currently being done through sector and cross sector business focus groups.

To support the information collected so far, we are asking you now to complete this survey:
Lancashire Sills & Workforce Survey

When analysed, the results will allow Lancashire’s businesses, colleges, training providers and business support community to work together and create a local skills improvement plan that truly recognises the skills needs, and more importantly, some of the solutions needed to address local skills gaps.

Our work over the past few months was all about placing employers at the heart of defining local skills needs and providing a once in a generation opportunity for Lancashire businesses to have their say and set out the key changes needed to make technical skills training more responsive to employers’ skills need. Please do get involved and make the change that you are looking for.
