An introduction to Incoterms

We appreciate that the first few weeks since the end of the transition period has proved difficult for many of our members so we will be running a series of events on areas of most interest to companies in the region.

These sessions are delivered as part of our Brexit service designed to help companies in North and Western Lancashire deal with the difficulties after the end of the transition period after leaving the European Union.

Delivered by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce international trade team, in partnership with Boost; Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, the fully funded service is part of the comprehensive information and advisory service we offer to businesses involved in importing and exporting.

This session is designed to introduce you to International Commercial Terms commonly known as INCOTERMS.

INCOTERMS are a widely-used terms of sale, are a set of 11 internationally recognized rules which define the responsibilities of sellers and buyers. INCOTERMS specifies who is responsible for paying for and managing the shipment, insurance, documentation, customs clearance, and other logistical activities.

Over the course of an hour we will introduce you to the basics of understanding where and when to use them.
