With the energy crisis affecting a lot of businesses in the region, the company is pushing for people to change to LED lighting, electrical vehicle charging and other renewable sources of energy, so this raffle prize can help the lucky winner both financially and environmentally.

The Darwen-based electricial contractor is raffling a 7kw Zappi electric vehicle charging point and installation for one lucky home owner in East Lancashire. All proceeds will go towards East Lancashire Hospice.

Elektec is an electric vehicle charging point specialist with a wealth of knowledge in this field. It is also a long-term supporter of the hospice and the raffle forms part of its 2022 corporate challenge.

Elektec is owned by a husband and wife team, Carl and Charlotte Knowles.

Charlotte Knowles said: “The hospice provides vital care and support services for people throughout East Lancashire and we are proud to support them. “With the move towards electric vehicles and sustainability, we hope that people will take advantage of this raffle and we wish everyone that enters, the best of luck.”

The draw will take place at 3pm on Tuesday, September 2, and the lucky winner will be contacted directly by East Lancashire Hospice. Entries will close at midnight on Wednesday, August 31.

Tickets for the raffle are £5 and are available online on the East Lancashire Hospice’s website.

Leanne Green, head of fundraising and marketing, said: “Elektec are incredible supporters of the hospice, they go above and beyond to spread the word of the work we do for our community and are always there to support in our fundraising.

“When we were told they were raffling an electric vehicle charging point, including free installation, we were over the moon! “It’s a fantastic prize to be won and for only £5 a ticket. All the money raised from this raffle will go directly to the provision of hospice care in our community.”
