Counter Terrorism Policing’s winter vigilance campaign

The campaign encourages people to look out for each other this winter and help keep everyone safe. Top tips for staff and employers include:

• Stay alert and trust your instincts.
• Be aware of who you let into your office building, keep doors closed when necessary.
• Report any suspicious activity to your manager, the emergency services or to Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) in confidence.
• Call 999 in an emergency.

The police service has released a short public information film with advice on the steps to take in the rare event of a firearms or weapons attack.

A campaign toolkit has been created, which contains key messages and assets that employers can be used across internal and external channels.
