Changes to ‘Right to Work’ checks

The adjustments to ‘Right to Work’ and ‘Right to Rent’ checks introduced on 30 March 2020, will end TOMORROW Friday 30 September.

From Saturday 1 October, employers must carry out the prescribed checks as set out in this guidance.

Employers and landlords who wish to continue carrying out right to work and rent checks remotely will be able to use Identification Document Validation Technology (IDVT) for checks on British and Irish citizens who hold a valid passport (or an Irish passport card). Click here for more information
