The Chamber has thrown its weight behind a campaign to provide vital support for the reopening of Preston’s iconic Guild Hall.

On behalf its members and the wider business community including Preston’s Business Improvement District, the organisation has written to Secretary of State for Culture, Lisa Nandy, to urge the department to provide funding for the project.

The venue has not operated fully since 2019 due to structural issues but was once host to legendary acts including Led Zeppelin, Blondie and The Jacksons, as well as major sports and community projects.

As a cultural hub, the Guild Hall is essential to the economy of the city, and the Chamber has also signed a petition, launched by community platform Blog Preston, which has collected almost 2,500 signatures so far.
