The next UK General Election will see one of the biggest changes in voting rules in decades. For the first time, all UK voters will need an ID to vote. However, millions of people are unaware of the new rules, meaning they could be barred from voting.

Employers can play a key role in raising awareness and driving civic engagement. Share this three-step initiative to remind and inform your member businesses about how they can participate in the run up to the next election:

Register to vote: Provide information on how to register to vote and a link to the government voter registration website.
• Know the rules: Provide information on the Voter ID rules and a link to the government page on applying for voter ID certificate or equivalent.
• Turnout on election day: Encourage your employees to vote on election day -providing accommodation in their work schedule where relevant.
