Egypt Unveils Major Industrial Investment Opportunities for International Partners
Published: 27/08/26
UK businesses and investors are being invited to explore a range of strategic industrial investment opportunities in Egypt as part of the country’s ambitious programme to expand manufacturing capacity, attract foreign investment and strengthen export-led growth.
The Economic & Commercial Bureau of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in London has announced a portfolio of eight major projects developed by the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), with opportunities available for international investors, technology providers, manufacturers and industrial partners.
The projects support Egypt’s wider industrial development strategy, which focuses on increasing local manufacturing capabilities, reducing import dependence, enhancing exports and encouraging international technology and investment partnerships.
The investment opportunities span several high-growth sectors, including renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, construction materials, automotive production, chemicals and sustainable industrial development.
Key Opportunities Include:
• Solar Panel Manufacturing Factory with an annual production capacity of 2 GW, located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with an estimated investment of €50 million.
• Flat Glass Manufacturing Factory with a production capacity of 600 tonnes per day, located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, requiring an estimated investment of €450 million.
• Palm Frond MDF Wood Factory producing 100,000 m³ annually in New Valley Governorate, with an estimated investment of €70 million.
• Perfume and Essential Oils Factory with an annual production capacity of 12 million bottles and an estimated investment of €20 million.
• Tyre Manufacturing Factory producing 9.6 million tyres annually for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses, bicycles, monorails and electric vehicles.
• Electric Bus Manufacturing Factory with an initial production capacity of 800 buses per year, increasing to 1,000 buses, with an estimated investment of €15 million.
• Phosphoric Acid and Fertilizer Industrial Complex capable of producing 1.5 million tonnes annually, located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with an estimated investment of US$1.4 billion.
• National Electric Car Project with an expected production capacity of approximately 20,000 vehicles per year.
The AOI has prepared feasibility studies for each project and is actively seeking partnerships with European companies interested in establishing or expanding operations in Egypt.
These opportunities represent significant potential for UK businesses operating in manufacturing, engineering, renewable energy, automotive, chemicals and industrial technology sectors. They also offer a chance to engage with one of the Middle East and North Africa region’s largest and fastest-growing industrial markets.
The Egyptian Commercial Office in London is available to facilitate introductions between interested companies and the relevant Egyptian authorities and project representatives. Detailed project presentations and supporting documentation are available upon request.
Companies wishing to explore any of the opportunities are encouraged to contact the Economic & Commercial Bureau of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in London to obtain further information and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.
As Egypt continues to position itself as a regional manufacturing and investment hub, these projects provide an opportunity for UK companies to participate in large-scale industrial developments and build long-term partnerships in a rapidly evolving market.
