Innovation leading the way in tackling Lancashire business crimes

Advanced technology is helping agencies across the county tackle business crime, a conference has been told.

Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett addressed businesses fears as reports of cyber-related crime, retail thefts and fraud have all increased over the past 12 months. Delegates were given updates on how initiatives like Operation Vulture have helped tackle shoplifting while other agencies have developed technology and intelligence tools to share data between the business community.

Several Chamber members have reported being victims of cyber-crime and fraud as part of policy committee meetings and consultations.

More than 200 delegates attended the annual conference at Ribby Hall and hosted by the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime.
