Ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of some of Lancashire’s biggest companies?
Now’s your chance to find out!
The North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is launching a series of behind-the-scenes events where members can have a sneak peak of how some of the most successful county businesses operate.
Starting next month, the “Chamber on Tour” visits Leyland Trucks assembly site – the home of one of Europe’s most advanced facilities, designing and manufacturing one of the most recognisable truck marques – DAF Trucks.
This tour is exclusive to Chamber members and marks the start of an exciting journey around some of Lancashire’s biggest and most successful businesses.
Attendees will have a chance to tour Leyland Trucks’ world-famous assembly site, network with decision-makers over coffee and connect with like-minded individuals.
Leyland Trucks operates from one of Europe’s most advanced truck assembly facilities, the Leyland Assembly Plant. The company employs more than 1,000 people, manufactures the full range of DAF products, of which approximately 40% is exported to all European Union markets and the wider world.
Their future development is focused on the use of leading-edge applications of information technology in all aspects of truck design, manufacture, procurement and logistics.
James Jepson, HR & Communications Director, from Leyland Trucks, said: “We are delighted to be the first stop on the Chamber on Tour events and look forward to welcoming guests to our site.
“With our proud history, we hope to give attendees a unique look at how the business operates and has become a successful and award-winning company.”
Lee Johnson, events and training manager at the NWL Chamber, said: “This is an exciting and unique opportunity for Chamber members to see what goes on behind the scenes at some of Lancashire’s biggest and most successful companies.
“Leyland Trucks is well-known and respected across the globe and it’s right on our doorstep. Chamber on Tour will allow just a peak at what makes it so unique in the manufacturing world and could give a vital insight to attendees as to how they can grow their own business.”
