Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme – Claims to date

On 20 April, the Government launched the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. Between launch and midnight on 22 April HMRC has received:

•435,000 claims
•Covering 3.2m employees*
•Amounting to £3.75bn

* these are rounded figures and some people may be included more than once if they’ve been furloughed for more than one pay day or have more than one furloughed job.
