Chamber Patron Member, James Brearley, have confirmed that they have been formally appointed as a Nominated Broker, to adopt former clients of Reyker Securities, which went into Special Administration last year. Their appointment by the Administrators received approval by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and will result in several thousands of clients moving across to James Brearley.
James Brearley, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019. The company’s Head Office is in Blackpool, with regional offices in Kendal, Formby and Preston. This development will lead to the company having custody responsibilities for more than £2.5bn of clients’ assets.
James Brearley has been working closely with the Administrators to ensure that as soon as clients’ assets are transferred across to their custodianship, clients will be able to place transaction instructions and have full access to their investments.
James Brearley’s Chairman, Nigel Corrie commented “On behalf of the company, I am delighted to welcome all those former clients of Reyker to our business. As a company we have always prided ourselves on an unwavering responsibility to provide very high standards of service to all of our clients. With a history dating back to 1919, I am confident that our new clients will find whichever service they utilise a rewarding experience. I am also confident that our new clients will be impressed by the depth of talent, experience and integrity they will have at their disposal. In welcoming our new clients, I sincerely trust that together we will enjoy a mutually rewarding relationship.
James Brearley’s, CEO, David Hannis added “We believe we are an extremely good fit for the Ex-Reyker Securities business, in that we provide very similar services, be it in the management of clients’ investments on a discretionary basis, acting for intermediary and institutional clients in safeguarding their underlying clients’ investments or in the administration and custody of structured products and structured deposits. We are confident our competitive charges will be well received by ex-Reyker clients. The transaction has led to the appointment of new staff members to help in ensuring that every client’s first experience of James Brearley, is a positive one”.
