The NWL Chamber of Commerce acts as a host organisation, providing affiliate membership services and support to the following organisations:

Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce works with Chambers across Lancashire.   Their view is that by working together, they can ensure the voice of business is heard, through collaboration and sharing of best practice.  Affiliate partnerships ensure that both Chambers can come together on issues of mutual interest and promote businesses right across North, Central, and West Lancashire.

Members of Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce are affiliated to North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.  Affiliation provides a direct link to the British Chambers of Commerce through North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing accreditation.

The backbone of this arrangement is a service level agreement which outlines the many benefits to both Chambers.

Preston BID is a project managed by the NWL Chamber of Commerce to work with businesses in Preston city centre to improve the overall trading conditions.  An annual business plan, overseen by the BID Committee, made up of city centre businesses, directs the BID’s annual activities.

The BID’s three core aims are to: Improve Safety & Security, support vibrancy and work with stakeholders to make the city centre more visually appealing.

The BID, which began in 2009 is voting upon by it’s members every five years.  The project must receive a majority ‘yes’ vote, both in terms of rateable value and number of votes, to be formally accepted.

Preston’s BID is in its third term which began in 2017 and runs until 2022.  The BID will go to re-ballot in the summer/autumn of 2021.
